After two weeks on the road, Mound City/Craig is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Rock Port at 7:00 PM. Rock Port will need to watch out since Mound City/Craig have now posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Mound City/Craig might be getting used to good results now that the squad has eight wins in a row. They put a hurting on DeKalb to the tune of 52-6. Junior TJ Hopkins was the offensive standout of the match for Mound City/Craig, as he rushed for 153 yards and 4 touchdowns. This marked the 3rd match in which Hopkins has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Rock Port put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They made easy work of South Holt/Nodaway-Holt and carried off a 40-12 victory. Rock Port were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The last time the two teams met, Mound City/Craig were close but not close enough the last time the two teams met as they fell 38-40 to Rock Port. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
