Chaparral found their leader in sophomore Kendyll Dinh, who picked up 163 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 163 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Dinh.
Chaparral didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sophia Marlow, Kaelie Weishaar, and Dinh picked up one apiece. Despite the loss, Buena still got an impressive performance from Deztany Toyota-Villalobos, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores. An impressive showing, but Toyota-Villalobos really ramped things up playing D: she picked up two sacks, made eight total tackles, and defended three passes. Adelina Ortega was another key player, having thrown for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
Chaparral has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Buena, they moved to 13-3 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.
