Football Recap: Riverdale Ridge Skates Past Adams City with Ease

Riverdale Ridge never let their opponents score on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 68-0 victory over the Adams City Eagles. Considering the Ravens have won six contests by more than 40 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Adam Horta and Diego Galvan. Horta rushed for 59 yards and two TDs on only seven carries while Galvan rushed for 35 yards and a pair of scores. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Horta a new career-high. Declyn Leschnik also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Riverdale Ridge's run defense was locked in: Adams City could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Player #60 for the heroic effort on defense: he. Riverdale Ridge didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.7.

Riverdale Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Drake Presswood led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games. As for Adams City, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Ravens 5.6, the Eagles 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Adams City will face off against rival Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
