Tri-Valley recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Upper Dauphin Area, who took down 275th ranked Pine Grove, 41-0. Austin Weaver threw for 102 yards and one touchdown and ran for 132 yards in the win.
Weaver and Trey Campbell provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Cardinals. The longest such play in Tri-Valley this season, the connection resulted in 53 yards.
Owen Daniel was the best wideout in the league this week as Williams Valley bested Line Mountain. Daniel tallied six receptions for 159 yards. Cole Barnhardt helped Williams Valley's passing attack out by catching four balls for 52 yards.
Neil Bodley was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 205 yards as Juniata beat the Eagles. Teammate Chad Eberle added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Weaver of the Trojans is the league leader in passing yards this season with 412. He has also thrown three touchdowns. On the ground, Tri-Valley's Blake Bowman has rushed for 618 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Daniel. The Williams Valley star has 20 catches for 254 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Williams Valley takes on Halifax. As it stands, Tim Savage's team is in second, while the Wildcats are in sixth.
The Vikings moved up to 100 from 295 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Williams Valley climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-28 win over Line Mountain.
