Adding to the longest winning streak in C1 District 9 this week, Cozad beat Ogallala 57-12. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Cozad took down the Indians 57-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Paulsen ran for 285 yards and caught 1 pass for 21 yards during the win.
Brian Cargill's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Bubak threw for 72 and 1 touchdown and Paulsen had 21 yards receiving. On the ground Paulsen chipped in 285 yards. Alex Boryca helped Cozad's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.
The Haymakers' dynamic duo of Bubak and Paulsen proved to be unstoppable against Ogallala, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Boryca helped Cozad's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.
Paulsen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cozad defeated Jeff Mcbride's team.
Paulsen was a force in the backfield as the Haymakers defeated the Indians.
Kearney Catholic's John Masker and Blake Holtmeier led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Masker has thrown for 856 yards this season, while Holtmeier has 26 catches for 499 yards. Paulsen from Cozad leads the league in rushing with 1,437 yards.
The Stars' Thomas Connely needs only 71 yards against Ord next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 147 carries Connely has put up 929 yards this year.
As it stands, the Haymakers are in first, while Minden is in fifth.
