Basketball Recap: Woodcreek Skates Past Golden Valley with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodcreek). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging an 85-34 victory over the Golden Valley Cougars. With that win, the Timberwolves brought their scoring average up to 55.4 points per game.

Woodcreek had a senior duo take command as Michael Kirby, Jr. posted five points and 21 steals and Max VanLaningham almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Kirby, Jr. also brought in his first three-point shooting accuracy of the season. Zach Bualat was another key player, shooting 55% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Woodcreek was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Woodcreek now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Golden Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
