Given Bishop's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Pacific Ridge is ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop's found their leader in underclassman Moana Peterson, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Peterson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ayla Johnson, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Bishop's is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Pacific Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6-1 record this season.
Bishop's won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Helix at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Helix will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Pacific Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Joseph Academy at 5:30 p.m. St. Joseph Academy and Pacific Ridge are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
