The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Lynn Classical are packing up and heading on the road for their first away match this season. They face off against Wilmington on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Lynn Classical don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Last Friday, Lynn Classical put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the contest and then some with a 36-0 victory over Salem. Lynn Classical had a senior duo take command as Marcus Tucker rushed for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns and Keith Ridley accumulated 152 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD. Butler has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, we expected Wilmington to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Stoneham, and they did. Wilmington ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-36 walloping at Stoneham's hands. Wilmington were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-30.
Lynn Classical's win lifted them to 4-3 while Wilmington's loss dropped them down to 3-5. In Lynn Classical's win, senior Marcus Tucker rushed for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns and senior Keith Ridley accumulated 152 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD. We'll see if Wilmington have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
