It was another big night for Jeremy Nielsen, who went 11 for 23 on his way to 29 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Lappe, who posted 17 points.
Meanwhile, Vanguard College Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Delta Charter on Monday, taking the game 49-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Vanguard College Prep's win came from a few key players Elliot Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nathan Muriithi, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Prak, who had ten points and three steals.
Vanguard College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Elliot Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Elliot Christian has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Vanguard College Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
