The Yosemite Badgers posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Fresno Christian 37-34. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Yosemite was the better team in the second half.
Jadyn Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bullock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Fresno Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Anna Pascual and Sarah Guglielmana. Pascual dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Guglielmana dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Pascual scored 15 or more points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Yosemite and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for Fresno Christian, they bumped their record down to 6-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Yosemite will take on Fowler at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fresno Christian, they will be playing at home against Chowchilla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chowchilla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
