The Desert Mirage RAMS are taking a road trip to face off against the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Desert Mirage came up short against Public Safety Academy and fell 18-15. The RAMS haven't had much luck with the Phoenix recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, while California School for the Deaf-Riverside put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Entrepreneur. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Olesya Kireyeva was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Kireyeva was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacquelyn Salas-Zaragoza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Juliana Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
California School for the Deaf-Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .522 or higher in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
California School for the Deaf-Riverside's record is now 2-0. As for Desert Mirage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Desert Mirage skirted past California School for the Deaf-Riverside 14-13 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the RAMS since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
