Eastern Missouri recap November 5, 2013
Clopton/Elsberry scaled the state rankings by moving to 276 from 304 this week, the biggest jump in Eastern Missouri. The Hawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Monroe City 34-20.
Clopton/Elsberry made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,667 from 13,426. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-20 victory over the Panthers last week.
Montgomery County's dynamic duo of Kyle Kroll and Jerad Jordan proved tough for North Callaway to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kroll threw for 138 yards and 1 touchdown and Jordan had 89 yards receiving. Jackson Bishop helped Montgomery County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 13 yards.
Jack Hicks provided a threat through the air and on the ground as mike scheibel's team bested Monroe City. He completed 4 passes for 32 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 284 yards. Hicks' favorite target this week was Jeremey Jennewein, who caught 3 passes for 30 yards.
Hicks was a beast in the backfield as the Hawks beat David Kirby's team.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Thunderbirds' Cole Branson and Miguel Hudson have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Branson has thrown for 1,488 yards this season, while Hudson has 35 catches for 460 yards. Hicks from Clopton/Elsberry leads the league in rushing with 1,258 yards.
