After a string of three wins, the Alpaugh Buffalos's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Woodlake by a score of 38-35.
Despite the defeat, Alpaugh had strong showings from Luis Vasquez, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals, and Jesus Nunez, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Woodlake was led to victory by Mario Jimenez and Joseph Avilez. Jimenez scored 9 points, while Avilez scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hugo Cruz, who scored 6 points.
Alpaugh's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Woodlake, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alpaugh is on the road again on Thursday and play against Wonderful College Prep Academy at 5:15 p.m. on November 30th. As for Woodlake, they will face off against Del Oro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Oro comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
