Basketball Recap: Palisades Falls Despite Big Games from Will Anderson and Lincoln Cook

Palisades played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Lehighton Indians an easy 80-55 victory. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln Cook and Will Anderson certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Cook went 7 of 17 en route to 18 points, while Anderson went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Cook's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Andrew, who posted six points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Palisades was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Palisades' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lehighton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palisades will venture away from home to take on Northern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Lehighton, they will head out to face off against Jim Thorpe at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Jim Thorpe: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lehighton has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
