Baseball Game Preview: Riverfield Academy Raiders vs. Amite School Center Rebels

For the second straight game, Riverfield Academy will face off against Amite School Center. The Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverfield Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Amite School Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Riverfield Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Amite School Center get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

John Cade Zeigler was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Zeigler wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brett Herrington, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Amite School Center's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10. As for Riverfield Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
