The Air Academy Kadets's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Discovery Canyon. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Air Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Max Howery was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Air Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Noah Hellem, who scored 21 points.
Air Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Discovery Canyon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Air Academy will head out on the road to face off against Cheyenne Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne Mountain is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Discovery Canyon, they will be playing at home against Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.
