The Norton Bluejays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Smith Center by a score of 56-49. Winning may never get old, but Norton sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Jenessa Ruder continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hallie Brooks, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Norton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Smith Center, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hoxie at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hoxie is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Smith Center, they will head out on the road to take on Hill City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
