Solomon won the last time they faced Bennington, and things went their way on Friday, too. Solomon steamrollered Bennington 74-26. Followers of Solomon probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Solomon's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 36 first-half points. Bennington countered with 26 points, leaving the score at 36-26 going into the half. Solomon put the game away in the third quarter with 30 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
No one put up better numbers for Solomon than senior Braden Neilson, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 174 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs. The Solomon defense stepped up as well to lay out the quarterback six times. The victory bumped Solomon's record up to 5-0. The defeat dropped Bennington's record to 2-3.
Next week Solomon take on Herington at District Game at 7:00 PM. Unlike Solomon, Herington will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Bennington, they will face off against Peabody-Burns. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
