Landstown is 8-2 against Bayside since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Landstown will head out on the road to challenge Bayside at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Landstown made easy work of Salem and carried off a 22-2 victory. The Eagles have beaten the Sundevils the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sundevils has come to flipping the script.
Dawson Hogan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hogan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Brendan Willette looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Kyle Flora and Colin Kim did most of the damage at the plate: Flora scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Kim scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Kim is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of George Chevalier, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Landstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .617. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Bayside hadn't done well against Kempsville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bayside came out on top against Kempsville by a score of 6-3.
Bayside also got a great performance from Barry Farias Jr as he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, Bayside's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tayden Jackson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was William ?Austin? Blakesley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Landstown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bayside, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Bayside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Landstown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .496. It's a different story for Bayside, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Landstown's hitters?
Everything went Landstown's way against Bayside in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Landstown made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Landstown since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
