On Tuesday, the DC International Dragons faced the Dunbar Crimson Tide in a battle between two of the state's top teams. DC International was beaten by Dunbar 72-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss DC International has suffered yet this season.
Gavin Moore and Jhalil Route certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Moore scored nine points, while Route scored eight points.
Dunbar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Russell out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Russell grabbed two or more steals. Gregory Lomax was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight assists and five steals.
DC International has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Dunbar, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
DC International on the road again on Saturday and play against Avalon at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Avalon is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Dunbar won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ballou at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Ballou is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.9 points per game.
