The Pueblo East Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Canon City Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pueblo East's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
Pueblo East's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-0 victory over Pueblo Central. That 62 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Dolphka Lewis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 138 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. Lewis is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Logan Trujillo, who gained 59 total yards and two touchdowns.
Pueblo East's run defense was locked in: Pueblo Central could only muster 1.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Dylan Cooper for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pueblo East didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.9.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Pueblo East, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Xavian Khamphavong, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Canon City challenged Coronado on Friday. The Tigers slipped by the Cougars 21-20. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Pueblo East better keep an eye on Trey Schumacher. He was instrumental in Canon City's win, rushing for 36 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 112 yards on six of 14 attempts. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Schumacher a new career-high. Jake Adamic helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

Pueblo East now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Canon City, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Pueblo East has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 224.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Canon City struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 259.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Pueblo East against Canon City when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 39-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
