The Pender Patriots's six-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Wallace-Rose Hill by a score of 53-45. The win was just what Pender needed coming off of a 75-51 loss in their prior game.
Pender's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Hansley, who scored 20 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Hansley scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Howell, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Wallace-Rose Hill saw an underclassman step up: Jamarae Lamb scored 19 points. Lamb is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Irving Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Pender's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Pender will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heide Trask at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Heide Trask's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. Wallace-Rose Hill on the road again on Tuesday and play against James Kenan at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd. James Kenan will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
