The Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes won the last time they faced the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Cape Fear Academy took down Arendell Parrott Academy 51-32. Given Cape Fear Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Arendell Parrott Academy is ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaiah Gibson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Anderson, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Fletcher Jones, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Chase Jones, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Cape Fear Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Fear Academy will take on John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they will play host again and welcome Wake Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wake Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
