Baseball Recap: Cedar Ridge Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Ridge rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bowie Bulldogs a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Bryson Batton looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kasen Langerhans was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jake Shoemaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Cedar Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 24-10-1.

As of now, neither Cedar Ridge nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
