The Yorktown Tigers won the last time they faced the New Castle Trojans, and things went their way on Friday too. Yorktown walked away with a 60-52 victory over New Castle. The win made it back-to-back wins for Yorktown.
Yorktown was led to victory by Addy Barnes and Lilly Sylvester. Barnes scored 19 points along with three steals, while Sylvester scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnes has scored all season. Olivia Conklin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, New Castle still got an impressive performance from Emma Hart, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 51.9% of New Castle's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidyn Minyard, who scored four points along with two steals.
Yorktown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for New Castle, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Yorktown will be playing at home against Greenfield-Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Castle, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
