The Desert Hills Thunder won against the Snow Canyon Warriors last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Desert Hills took down Snow Canyon 49-33. The victory was familiar territory for Desert Hills who now have five in a row.
Tytan Mason was his usual excellent self, rushing for 222 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mason hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Desert Hills also got a significant boost from Gerritt Thomas grondel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 103 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Snow Canyon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talan Kelly. Despite the final result, he rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Semaj Thompson, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Snow Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.
Desert Hills will take on Crimson Cliffs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crimson Cliffs has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 440 points over their last eight games. Snow Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
