Bryan is on a four-game streak of home wins, while the Dragons are on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bryan Bears will take on the Gretna Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, Bryan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bunnies, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. Given Bryan's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bunnies are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for A'mare Bynum, who shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was LC Doss, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gretna beat the Eagles 64-59 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gretna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alec Wilkins, who scored 15 points. Landon Pokorski was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Bryan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Gretna, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Bryan hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.3 points per game. However, it's not like Gretna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.1 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Bryan ended up a good deal behind the Dragons in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, losing 57-39. Will Bryan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
