The biggest upset of the week belonged to Marion County, who took down 146th ranked Dooly County, 12-7. James Taylor ran for 140 yards and caught one passes for 31 yards in the win.
The Eagles moved up to 159 from 188 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 4. Marion County climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Bobcats 12-7.
Brookstone's dynamic duo of Duncan Fletcher and Tim Kennedy proved tough for Schley County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fletcher threw for 174 yards and one touchdown and Kennedy had 62 yards receiving. Mark McVay helped Brookstone's passing attack out by catching three balls for 52 yards.
Tra Minter was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 165 yards on 32 carries as the Wildcats beat the Wildcats. Jack Peavy also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Lorenzo Smothers made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles topped Dooly County. The freshman grabbed two interceptions.
On the ground, Schley County's Minter has rushed for 1332 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cortney Clark. The Dooly County star has 22 catches for 440 yards.
Brookstone's Madison McCluskey is a mere 85 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 104 carries McCluskey has accumulated 915 yard this year.
A big matchup in A Region 4 this week will be when the Eagles take on the Cougars. Marion County is currently in first, while Brookstone is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and the Cougars face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Marion County comes in having scored 196 this season, while Brookstone has scored 187. The Eagles scored 12 points last week as they defeated the Bobcats.
Marion County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Dooly County, 12-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
