The Riverview Sharks struggled with assists on Friday (the Bloomingdale Bulls had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Riverview took a serious blow against Bloomingdale, falling 58-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverview in their matchups with Bloomingdale: they've now lost nine in a row.
Loss or not, Riverview got some senior leadership from Kaylee Dominguez who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals and Kennedy McCormick who scored four points. Dominguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Bloomingdale was led to victory by Izellah Kendrick and Noelle Mengel. Kendrick dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Mengel scored 15 points along with nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Tabitha Vega, who scored ten points.
Riverview's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2. As for Bloomingdale, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Riverview will head out on the road to face off against Spoto at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spoto's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so Riverview's offense will have their work cut out for Riverview. As for Bloomingdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bay at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Bloomingdale is ranked 26th).
