West Caldwell has won 11 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Bandys has won 11 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Warriors will welcome the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. West Caldwell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
West Caldwell will bounce into Friday's match after beating West Lincoln, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Rebels on their field since May 5, 2023.
West Caldwell's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daylann Patterson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Bandys made easy work of Newton-Conover on Wednesday and carried off an 18-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Rylie Tucker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Alexander, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caroline Drum, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Bandys always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bandys has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Caldwell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Bandys struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Caldwell took their win against Bandys in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
