It was a good run, but the Columbia Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Bay at home by a decisive 29-15 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Columbia has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Columbia saw an underclassman step up: Sariya Robinson scored six points.
Columbia's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5. As for Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Columbia will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence County is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Wildcats a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Bay will take on the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poplarville has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
