Prairie extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 4-10. They came up short against the Genesee Bulldogs, falling 18-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-7 back in March.
Kenly Forsmann was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Hailey Hanson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Genesee, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Genesee's side, Lindsey Herman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Genesee got a massive performance out of Rylie Baysinger, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Krick, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Coincidentally, Prairie and Genesee will both be playing Glenns Ferry the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Pilots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Pirates will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
