Softball Recap: Celebration Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Celebration had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Gateway Panthers as they made off with an 18-7 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-7 on March 10th.

Valeria Castellano was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Violet McMahon was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Celebration always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Celebration's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Gateway, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Celebration will host Poinciana at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.75 runs per game on average), something the Storm will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gateway, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orlando Christian Prep at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
