The Clairton Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 31 points or more this season. They breezed by East Allegheny on the road to the tune of 70-8. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Clairton has managed all season.
Iyanna Wade continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 49 points. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of J Childs, who scored 13 points.
The victory for Clairton keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for East Allegheny, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Clairton and Steel Valley will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Steel Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Clairton is ranked 149th). East Allegheny will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seton LaSalle at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
