The Millbrook Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Wake Forest by a score of 47-36 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Millbrook, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Millbrook found their leader in underclassman Lauren Brown, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Millbrook's points. Another player making a difference was Ariana Morris, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Wake Forest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chiquora Miles, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Audra Hillman who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals. Miles hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Millbrook's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Wake Forest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
Millbrook will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Huskies at 6:15 p.m. Heritage has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20. As for Wake Forest, they will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Knightdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
