The New Buffalo Bison lost against the Howardsville Christian Eagles back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. New Buffalo was dealt a 79-49 loss at the hands of Howardsville Christian. New Buffalo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-31.
Despite the defeat, New Buffalo saw an underclassman step up: Lucas Forker dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Samuel Tripp, who scored ten points.
New Buffalo's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Howardsville Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Buffalo will be home for the holidays to greet Brandywine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandywine will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Howardsville Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Michigan Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Michigan Lutheran is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
