The Trinity Christian Lions waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past LaGrange, posting a 72-24 victory at home. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while LaGrange is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabbie Grooms was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Bennett, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Trinity Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for LaGrange, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Trinity Christian will head out on the road to challenge Starr's Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LaGrange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitewater at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitewater has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
