Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Sultan proved: they limited Cedar Park Christian to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Landyn Jovee for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sultan didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.3.
Sultan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hunter Swanberg, Jordan Kelso, and Reid Whitmarsh picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Lynnwood scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 26-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mariner. The Royals have struggled against the Marauders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Sultan will have to contain Ty Jensen as he made an impact in Lynnwood's last game. He rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only five carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards.
Lynnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sultan, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Sultan against Lynnwood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. In that contest, the Turks amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
