Arizona College Prep hasn't had much luck against ALA - Gilbert North recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Arizona College Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by Cactus Shadows 35-34.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arizona College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Heinrich, who threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Heinrich has posted since back in November of 2024. Max Sasso was in the mix too, providing Arizona College Prep with two TDs.

Arizona College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daniel Velasquez and Melo Adams. With that strong performance, Velasquez is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game. Cam Mitchell was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (3.5 for loss) and defending one pass.
Meanwhile, ALA - Gilbert North entered their tilt with Mountain View on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Mountain Lions, posting a 42-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.
Arizona College Prep better keep an eye on Ben Livingston. He was instrumental in ALA - Gilbert North's win, throwing for 322 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. Isaac Massey also helped out as he racked up 127 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something ALA - Gilbert North proved: they limited Mountain View to a paltry 0.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Gaven McKinney for the heroic effort on defense: he. ALA - Gilbert North's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.1.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Heinrich and Livingston. Heinrich just won't slow down this season and has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 228.1 passing yards per game. Livingston has been a dominant force too and has thrown 31 touchdowns (and and only 5 pick) while averaging 193.5 passing yards per game.
Arizona College Prep might still be hurting after the 35-14 defeat they got from ALA - Gilbert North when the teams last played back in October. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
