Owatonna is 9-1 against Faribault since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Owatonna Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Faribault Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Owatonna had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-54 victory over Northfield.
Owatonna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Fisher out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jersey Coleman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Faribault's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Albert Lea by a score of 53-40. The win was just what Faribault needed coming off of a 67-45 loss in their prior contest.
Owatonna's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Faribault, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Everything came up roses for Owatonna against Faribault in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 71-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Owatonna since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
