The Progreso Red Ants have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on IDEA Sports Park with a sharp 58-36 victory on Friday. 58 seems to be a good number for Progreso as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Sophia Pecina continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 24 points, 18 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Progreso's points. Another player making a difference was Lorena Cerda, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Progreso and bumps their season record up to 10-8. As for IDEA Sports Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Progreso will challenge Monte Alto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monte Alto comes in still looking for their first win of the season. IDEA Sports Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Rosa at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th.
