The Littleton Lions suffered their closest loss since December 9, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Pomona by a score of 43-40. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Littleton of the 55-42 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Littleton still got an impressive performance from Treyton Fletcher, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 55% of Littleton's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Griffin, who scored seven points.
Pomona found their leader in underclassman Dj Hawkins, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Hawkins hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Jaxon Perry was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Littleton dropped their record down to 7-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pomona, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Littleton will square off against Evergreen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pomona, they will head out on the road to challenge Dakota Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
