The Durand Railroaders pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chesaning. Durand was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chesaning apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Durand's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kwin Knapp, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. Knapp continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Levi Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Durand's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chesaning, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Durand will head out on the road to face off against Byron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chesaning, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
