The Lake City Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 71-57 bruising from Camden. The match was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Lake City couldn't quite close it out.
Lake City's loss came despite strong showings from Blayne Edwards and Dallas Davis. Edwards dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Davis dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Bryson Rose was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Leading Camden to victory were Israel Macklin and Jahmarie Mcleod. Macklin scored 18 points, while Mcleod scored 22 points. Macklin hasn't dropped below 15 points for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Lavel Greene, who scored eight points.
Lake City dropped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Camden, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake City's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Camden will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Darlington is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.
