O'Connor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Casteel Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (O'Connor is ranked 18th, while Casteel is ranked 19th).
O'Connor can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-7 win over Mountain Ridge at home. With O'Connor ahead 28-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
O'Connor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Armstrong out in front who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Nathan Bayus also helped out as he racked up 121 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Casteel had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over Corona del Sol on Friday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Casteel's seven-point performance the match before.
Casteel can attribute much of their success to Mason Lewis, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and Braden Greene, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-5.
