Callaway will challenge Canton on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Callaway is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
Callaway had a rough outing against Germantown two weeks ago, but they've seemd to have fixed things right up. Last Friday, Callaway came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridgeland, sneaking past 36-34. Senior Lakenith Thompson, who rushed for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Callaway's success. Thompson has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, Canton might have drawn first blood against Neshoba Central, but it was Neshoba Central who got the last laugh. Canton suffered a grim 29-54 defeat to Neshoba Central. Canton were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 21-48.
Callaway's win lifted them to 4-3 while Canton's defeat dropped them down to 4-4. If Callaway want to win, Callaway will need to focus on stopping Canton's Tyrease Dunbar, who passed for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns, and junior Jacobian Morgan, who passed for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
