Plymouth has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lucas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Big Red will head out to square off against the Cubs at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Plymouth was able to grind out a solid win over Monroeville, taking the game 6-1.

Jarrett Burrer
| 04/07/25 vs South Central | 3 |
| 03/29/25 vs Northwestern | 2 |
Jarrett Burrer made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Plymouth is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Burrer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Burrer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter McClure, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. McClure also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Bobby Bowman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Lucas waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Flames as they made off with a 13-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Cubs have won by exactly 12 runs.
Lucas got a massive performance out of Jaden Shaulis, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Grover, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lucas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Christian only posted an OBP of .304.
Plymouth's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Lucas, their record is now 5-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Plymouth has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lucas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Plymouth took their victory against Lucas in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Big Red have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cubs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
