Westmoreland will square off against Fredericksburg Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Westmoreland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Westmoreland's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Chancellor 15-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Emma Burgess was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Wheeler was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lydia Hawkins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Fredericksburg Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 16-6 to Potomac School. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 22nd.
Fredericksburg Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Johnson, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 4-for-4.
Westmoreland has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Fredericksburg Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westmoreland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fredericksburg Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Westmoreland might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Fredericksburg Christian in their previous meeting back in March. Will Westmoreland have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
