The Thief River Falls Prowlers will face off against the East Grand Forks Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thief River Falls' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so East Grand Forks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Thief River Falls didn't have quite enough to beat Detroit Lakes and fell 4-3. The loss was the Prowlers' first of the season.
Thief River Falls got a good showing from Jaxon Hams, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Hams a new career-low.
At the plate, Thief River Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Hurst, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, East Grand Forks made easy work of Roseau on Friday and carried off a 9-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.
Rylee Hams made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Hams was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, East Grand Forks got a massive performance out of Carson McDonald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cole Schmiedeberg, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Having lost for the first time this season, Thief River Falls fell to 3-1. As for East Grand Forks, their record now sits at 2-0.
