Xander Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists. Blayde Hinton was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Nash Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stephen Howard, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Howard hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Markell Jasper, who scored eight points.
SouthWest Edgecombe's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Nash Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
SouthWest Edgecombe will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than SouthWest Edgecombe in North Carolina (Washington is ranked 110th, while SouthWest Edgecombe is ranked 296th). As for Nash Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. Northern Nash is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
